Hidden beneath One Hundred Shoreditch, Seed Library is a stripped back speakeasy offering a wealth of delicious and carefully concocted cocktails. It’s the latest establishment from cocktail maestro, Mr Lyan, so you know you’re in for a real treat. The drinks focus on a ‘lo-fi, analogue’ way of cocktail making inspired by the origins of classic cocktails and alternative flavour sources.

A Shoreditch bar from Mr Lyan and team with a -> focus on stripped back analogue forms – embracing natural variance and a maker's touch. You'll find this in our music, stylings, food and drinks. Our drinks, wines, beers and spirits all reflect an ethos of carrying a “maker’s touch” fingerprint and will rotate frequently.

Hidden in the basement of One Hundred Shoreditch, Seed Library is Mr Lyan’s rebellious little sister to his famous cocktail spots. Think low-key luxury meets vinyl bar—where perfectly crafted drinks get a stripped-back, 70s-inspired makeover. Master mixologist Ryan Chetiyawardana (Mr Lyan himself) has created a menu that pulls off the impossible: drinks that are both innovative and approachable. The space feels like your coolest friend’s living room, complete with retro décor, mood lighting, and a vintage sound system spinning classic records. Skip the fancy garnishes and pretentious mixology—Seed Library serves up clever cocktails without the fuss.

This laid-back bar is in a cosy basement in Shoreditch and is the perfect spot for late-night cocktails. It was opened by cocktail bartender Ryan Chetiyawardana, who opened his first venue White Lyan in 2013, a bar that served cocktails using no perishables, like fruit or ice, in an attempt to be as sustainable as possible. The same approach is taken at Seed Library, where the menu comprises stripped-back classic cocktails. You’ll also find a DJ spinning the freshest tracks on Wednesday through Sunday until late.

The basement of One Hundred Shoreditch is a relaxed, impressively low-lit and supremely welcoming space with terrazzo tables, cool pine panelling and soft 1960s-stylings. Megastar mixologist Ryan Chetiyawardana – aka Mr Lyan – is behind the Seed Library’s menu, with potent offerings such as the Moonlit Gimlet with tequila, soured green peas, and elderflower, the Megamix Sazerac with scotch, beeswax vinegar and absinthe mallow or the Hand-rolled Spritz with gin, rolled cardamom leaf, unripe plum and redcurrant bubbles.

Mr Lyan, aka cocktail maestro Ryan Chetiyawardana, is back in East London (he opened his and first bar White Lyan in the neighbourhood back in 2013) with Seed Library. The bar is in the basement of One Hundred Shoreditch and is decked out in warm orange and red upholstery and wood panelling. There’s lo-fi, analogue approach to drinks, taking inspo from classic cocktails and alternative flavours and ingredients, which means drinks like the Curry Leaf Stonefence (using curry leaf to bring out the greener side of white rum), the Perilla Gin & Tonic (using perilla seed to add green and nutty notes to the bitter sweet cocktail) and the Sancho Leaf Martini (adding the floral spice of szechuan leaf to contrast with the cold gin or vodka).

In the basement of One Hundred Shoreditch hotel, you’ll find Seed Library – one of two bars by renowned mixologist Mr Lyan in the capital (you’ll find the other, Lyaness, in the Sea Containers hotel near Blackfriars). And when you visit a Mr Lyan bar, one thing you’re guaranteed is a really excellent drink – with a twist. The setting is beautiful, the drinks are next-level and on the weekends, DJs soundtrack the space with vinyls for genuinely great vibes.
