"Tonteria" means "nonsense" in Spanish and while the parties at this place are often fuelled with peculiar antics (think latex and fire-eaters) there’s nothing silly about the food. Alain Dona's place is all about small plates, which is great as there are plenty of Mexican delights to try. Four different types of tacos are on offer including a seared tuna creation with a spicy jalapeño salsa and burritos come in chicken or veggie form. Once you’re done with the grub, be sure to get a drink from the tequila train which does the rounds delivering shots to the tables. All aboard.

Here, at Tonteria, your tequila can be delivered to you via miniature train. That alone deserves inclusion in our list. We love a train gimmick here to The Tequila Shop. Tonteria has a dark, sexy, high-end vibe in London’s upmarket Belgravia area. They stock an impressive range of tequila’s including a rather eye-wateringly expensive Reserva de Alma worth £5,000! Not surprising given the celebrity clientele snapped leaving this bar. It’s a cosy spot for tequila and tapas, at 11pm they bring out the dancers and performers.
