Cavita on Wigmore Street is one of those restaurants you want everyone to see you at. Ideally while engaged in a hilarious conversation with a fabulous friend and drinking just the right number of spiced watermelon margaritas. Hint: enough that you get a little Pinterest mom over all the lovely ceramics, not so many that you try to chat up the beef shin quesabirria. Don’t write this place off as just a gorgeous foliage haven though—the Mexican food is excellent, the service is friendly, and if it's on, splitting the whole grilled octopus is a must if you’re rolling with a group.

Renowned Mexican restaurant Cavita in Marylebone is excited to introduce ‘El Bar de Cavita’ – a brand new bar which is a labour of love from Chef Patron Adriana, built around all her favourite things; Margaritas, Mezcal and Mexican Street Food. This new addition to the much-loved restaurant will be a conversion of the previous basement area and will provide a relaxed and welcoming space for drinks in the Marylebone area... Stripping the menu back to basics, El Bar De Cavita will serve exceptional Margaritas, building on the success of the house Margarita upstairs; the Watermelon Margarita. Other drinks include a classic Mezcalita, a Corn Old Fashioned made with Abasolo Mexican Corn Whiskey, agave and angostura whiskey bitters and the traditional fermented and spiced pineapple drink, Tepache. Alongside cocktails, El Bar De Cavita will serve a huge range of Mexican spirits, from traditional and rare mezcals to lesser-known products such as Sotol – a mezcal adjacent spirit made from the Sotol plant with a similar flavour profile and Koch, a mezcal from the San Baltazar region of Oaxaca. The mezcal offering is geared towards tasting, with a house flight of Adriana’s all-time favourite mezcals on offer... El Bar De Cavita is a high-energy space with vibrant music and a rustic Mexican-inspired design, reminiscent of traditional cantinas, creating a warm and inviting ambiance.

New Mexican haunt Cavita has been described as a 'knockout'. The inspectors of the world-renowned Michelin Guide revealed their top picks... featuring 25 new additions. ... Head to the basement bar for a cocktail or a tequila before taking a seat in this bright, friendly ground floor restaurant with a view of the chefs at work in the open kitchen. The concise menu brims with punchy, vibrant Mexican choices, including raw dishes, street food and platters to share.

Adriana Cavita’s eponymous restaurant has been a big part of the movement to trailblaze a new path for modern Mexican cooking in the capital. Cavita’s menus have just the right amount of ingenuity, whilst still being based in authentic Mexican techniques and flavours - see for example her crab infladita, where she piles crab meat, pasilla chilli and coffee mayo into a puffed corn tortilla. The restaurant also looks the part too, in fact, we’d venture it’s one of the most wholesomely beautiful in London.

Named after its chef and founder, Adriana Cavita, this welcoming Marylebon spot has a wonderfully fun, laid-back energy that fits well with its rustic, authentic Mexican cooking. Street food supplies the inspiration for many of the dishes, while others are designed for sharing – so ensure you bring a group to make the most of it. The drinks are a big part of the appeal at many of our favourite Mexican restaurants and Cavita is no different, with El Bar de Cavita in the basement on hand to keep the party going with a range of cocktails and an extensive mezcal selection.

Ideal for fine Mexican dining from a chef with Pujol pedigree… In a textured, tactile room that positively glows as you enter it – full of natural stone elements, exposed bricks rendered white and plenty of primavera wood trim – some of the most wholesome, utterly delicious Mexican food is being served.

Cavita on Wigram Street is one of those restaurants where you want to be seen. But don’t write this place off as just a gorgeous foliage haven. The changing Mexican menu is excellent. Chef Adriana Cavita cut her teeth working across some of the most-decorated and experimental restaurants across the globe including Mexico City's Pujol (currently ranked as 5th Best Restaurant in the World) and Spain's famous El Bulli – remember the Costa Brava restaurant with a waiting list of 1,000,000? Cavita is her first solo debut and it's quickly cemented itself as one of the best restaurants in London right now. The interiors are relaxed, harking to Mexico City with terracotta tiles, exposed brick and plenty of pathos plants dangling overhead and the food is phenomenal – don't skip the smoked beef shin quesabirria or the smoky Mezcalita. For something a little lighter, make your way downstairs to the recently refreshed bar El Bar De Cavita, a moody and cavernous space based on traditional cantinas serving up Chef Adriana's favourite things: margaritas, mezcal and Mexican street food. The food here is also just as exceptional as the fare upstairs, think hamachi tostadas, tacos de pastor, that beef shin quesabiria and grilled octopus. Even the totopos were worth the visit alone for – with three delightful dips including an incredibly more-ish spicy Mayan dip with pumpkin seed.

With a Michelin star under their belts, Cavita has quickly become a favourite among Londoners who love Mexican food. Their selection of tequila cocktails could have you umming and ahhing for a while, but you’re in extremely safe hands so don’t be afraid to ask for recommendations. We suggest trying their unique takes on classic cocktails, like the Mexican Mule, the Mezcal Espresso Martini, or our absolute favourite, the Oaxaca Old Fashion, served with Koch Mezcal, agave syrup, and a tangy grapefruit bitter

You’ll find El Bar De Cavita tucked beneath Marylebone’s fantastic Mexican restaurant Cavita (surprisingly). There’s a seriously impressive collection of independent tequilas behind the bar at this gorgeously rustic agaveria, but you’ll also be able to sample mezcals and lesser-known numbers like sotol and bacanora. And of course, they make their way into an exceptional array of cocktails like the fresh Watermelon Margarita; the mezcal and jalapeño-spiked Oaxacan Sour; and the Mezcaloni, a smoky take on the negroni.

A celebration of all things Mexico in Marylebone, Cavita is the place to head for top tier tequila. There's plenty up for grabs, from tipples best served neat to those all mixed up in creative house cocktails. There's plenty more agave amazingness here too. A mezcal or two is a must for any visit. Feeling peckish? Grab a quesabirria before you go.

Swap salty for sweet with the hibiscus and grilled pineapple margarita at Cavita. It’s more than enough on its own, but we recommend sipping yours while feasting on a beef shin quesabirria or vegan frijolitos.

Part of the joy of going to Mexican chef Adriana Cavita's restaurant Cavita – although there are many to choose from – is the ever-changing margarita menu. In May it was strawberry and elderflower; in March it was this beauty with forced rhubarb and apple.
